Event Details

Tis the season for giving! Join The Red Pump Project, Blogging While Brown Conference, Swish Dreams and Afrobella for a holiday party and coat drive! "Cocktails, Convos and Coats" is our way of partying with a purpose this holiday season, giving back to those less fortunate.

Come for an evening of good music (provided by DJ Niena Drake), drinks, conversations, games and charity. And bring gently-used to new winter gear you no longer want or need with you to donate. We'll be collecting these things and donating to UCan Chicago, a nonprofit that focuses strives to build strong youth and families through compassionate healing, education and empowerment.

The Red Pump Project

The Red Pump Project is a nonprofit organization that raises awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls. Our mission is to promote HIV prevention through education, and open dialogue about the issues that surround sexual and reproductive health.

Red Pump believes that if HIV affects one, it affects us all. We use the red shoe as a symbol of empowerment to represent the strength and courage of women infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. The incorporation of fashion into the message of HIV prevention is our contribution as we hope to show that Awareness is Always in Style!™
